Tennis Player Receives Lifetime Ban for Match-Fixing: What Happened.
Tennis Player Jatuporn Na Lamphun Receives Lifetime Ban Due to Match Manipulation
According to The Sun: Tennis player Jatuporn Na Lamphun has been banned for life from competition due to a series of violations related to match-fixing.
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced the punishment after it was found that the 31-year-old athlete attempted to fix 22 matches in 2023 and 2024.
GettyIn addition to the ban, Na Lamphun received a fine of £84,000 for breaching the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP).
The allegations in 18 of the 22 matches involve the transfer or offer of money.
The unranked Thai tennis player did not respond to the charges and refused to cooperate with the ITIA investigation.
Although his provisional ban was already known, the decision on the lifetime punishment came as a result of his lack of response; the ban took effect on August 20.
The athlete did not appeal this decision at an independent anti-corruption officer hearing.
From this point on, he is no longer allowed to play, coach, or attend any tennis tournaments sanctioned by major organizations such as the ATP, WTA, ITF, Tennis Australia, the French Tennis Federation, Wimbledon, USTA, and national associations.
This is not the first time Na Lamphun has been banned from tennis. In 2016, he received an 18-month ban for three violations of the anti-corruption program that occurred between July and November 2014.
At that time, his fine was £3,700 according to the decision of independent anti-corruption adjudicator Ian Mill QC.

This situation underscores the serious consequences of corruption schemes in sports and the need to ensure integrity in tennis. The international community takes these violations very seriously and will continue to take measures to prevent and punish the guilty.
