By his own admission, Crawford has had his share of troubles and was expelled from five schools. While this deprived him of an education, he earned a reputation as a true fighter.

“I always had that impulse to fight,” Crawford said in an interview with Piers Morgan.

Crawford grew up in a strict family where discipline was paramount.

“I received punishment for bad behavior. That's part of discipline,” he recounted.

Crawford's mother, Debbie, employed unconventional methods to toughen her son—most notably, she paid bullies to try to beat him up.

“I think there's more of a competition in her,” he explained.

“Her brother was a boxer, her father was a boxer, my dad's grandfather also dabbled in boxing...”

Thanks to these trials, Crawford learned to fight, winning championships in four weight classes.

He turned professional in 2008. Due to his unique upbringing, Crawford overcame numerous obstacles.

An accident where Crawford was injured nearly shattered his career, but soon he began to rise again to the top.

Crawford started his professional boxing career under the guidance of legendary promoter Bob Arum in 2011.

Since then, he has become a boxing star, winning world titles in various weight classes.

Crawford left Arum in 2021, and in 2023 he defeated his main rival Errol Spence Jr.

Now he faces his biggest challenge: a fight with Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas.

“I can't imagine that I can lose. It's not something I think about. I never like to think about losing,” Crawford shared.

Victory in the fight with Canelo could forever etch his name in boxing history.
