Terence Crawford on fights with Topuria: This guy must have been drunk.
Ilia Topuria's statement on winning against Terence Crawford
According to The Sun: Terence Crawford believes that MMA star Ilia Topuria, when he claimed his intention to knock him out, was probably in a state of intoxication.
Before his fight with Canelo Alvarez, which is set to take place on Saturday, the 37-year-old boxer became the target of unexpected claims from his competitor.
Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford will box on Saturday night in Las Vegas for all the super middleweight titles SHUTTERSTOCKTopuria, an Olympic boxing champion, claims he is capable of finishing Crawford in the ring. Despite being only 28 years old, he ranks first in the UFC.
Crawford, who aims to become the first boxer in the world to hold titles in three weight classes, brushed off these claims.
“That dude is probably drunk. A lot of UFC fighters drink, so he must have been on alcohol that day,”- noted Crawford, commenting on Topuria's words.
Despite Topuria's impressive record (17-0), his confidence in being able to transfer his boxing skills to the ring seems somewhat laughable.
This did not stop Topuria from expressing himself on social media:
“I won't be talking about what will happen between me and Crawford in the octagon. I will put him to sleep with the first punch.”
In the world of combat sports, such disputes and statements are a common occurrence. Topuria, being a young but talented fighter, is trying to draw attention to himself, while Crawford, a new level of competition, is constantly pushing him to test his capabilities. If Topuria can turn his words into reality in the ring, it will be a significant step in his career. Read also
