The Independent: Trump and Putin underestimate each other in negotiations over Ukraine.

Experts are increasingly concerned that Trump and Putin will negotiate over the war in Ukraine.
Alex Younger, former head of Britain's intelligence, expresses his concern and asserts that Trump underestimates Putin and does not understand his intentions.
Putin seeks more, especially when he senses a chance for victory. He needs to show the Russians more significant results to explain the horrendous losses.
Experts also point out that Putin may mistakenly believe Trump to be a different person, as he differs from Biden in being more prone to the use of force.
Kurt Volker, former U.S. special representative for Ukraine, emphasizes that Trump reacts negatively to manipulations that may affect relations with Putin. Volker also mentions the possibility of providing new security guarantees to Ukraine from the U.S.
According to former British ambassador to Russia Laurie Bristow, Trump overestimates his influence on Putin and does not fully understand his nature.
Additionally, Elon Musk ironically commented on Zelensky's statement regarding negotiations with the RF.
