The New Yorker: Zelensky Reveals the Main 2 Points of Ukraine's "Victory Plan".
Zelensky to Present Biden with Ukraine's Victory Plan During US Visit
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky plans to present US President Joe Biden a detailed "victory plan" for Ukraine during his visit to the United States. The Ukrainian leader revealed this in an interview with The New Yorker.
According to Zelensky, the plan includes several elements related to Ukraine's long-term security and geopolitical position. The key points include:
- Accelerated admission of Ukraine to NATO
- Provision of Western military aid with fewer restrictions
"The victory plan is a bridge. A strong Ukraine will force Putin to come to the negotiating table. I am convinced of this," Zelensky stated.
The President of Ukraine emphasized the importance of decisive actions from Western partners: "If you do not want this war to continue, if you do not want Putin to bury us under his people's bodies, taking even more Ukrainian lives in the process, we offer you a plan to strengthen Ukraine".
Zelensky also stressed that this plan is not a fantasy and does not require cooperation from Russia to succeed. "The plan outlines what our partners can do without Russia's involvement," he explained.
The Ukrainian leader understands that this might be the last chance to secure substantial foreign aid before the US elections. "If he [Biden] does not want to support this, I cannot force him. I can only keep explaining," Zelensky noted.
