Tiger Woods has undergone another back surgery
According to The Sun: Tiger Woods is once again facing serious health issues as he underwent another back surgery.
Tiger Woods underwent a disc surgery on FridayGettyThis indicates a potential threat to his golf career. Woods, who is 49 years old, confirmed via social media that he needed surgery.
The 15-time major champion had been experiencing pain and restricted movement, which necessitated the replacement of a disc in his lower back.
"After experiencing pain and lack of movement in my back, I consulted doctors and surgeons for tests. The scans showed that I had a damaged disc in L4/5, fragmentation of the disc, and a compromised spinal canal. I decided to replace the disc yesterday, and I now know that I made the right decision for my health and back. – T.W."
According to him, Dr. Shiraz Khureshi successfully performed the lower back surgery at a specialized surgical hospital in New York. This was Woods' SEVENTH back surgery.
One of the previous surgeries in 2017 was a dramatic procedure to fuse vertebrae.
The last surgery was the third in the past two years. Previously, Woods also underwent surgeries on his Achilles tendon and left ankle.

At that time, he required emergency surgery, and there was a risk that he might never walk again, let alone compete.
Currently, Woods is playing under a limited schedule due to his physical issues; his last appearance was at 'The Open' in July 2024.
As of now, there is no clear information regarding his return, but the likelihood of a return to a regular schedule appears unlikely.
Given this, Woods may focus on his TGL project, which requires less physical exertion than traditional golf. The second season of TGL starts on December 28, with finals scheduled for late March.
