Shadow Tobacco: Tax Service Imposes Record Fines.

The State Tax Service does not tolerate any violations in the sale of tobacco products! This year, over 13 thousand inspections have been conducted, resulting in over 221 million hryvnias in fines. Additionally, cigarettes worth over 19.5 million hryvnias have been seized, and 536 licenses have been revoked due to illegal trading.
Acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesia Karnauh has called for consolidated efforts from government agencies and businesses to combat the shadow economy. She emphasized the importance of joint work in various sectors, such as retail trade, e-commerce, and the food industry.
Focusing on the dangers of the shadow economy, Lesia Karnauh urges everyone to take action. She stresses that inaction on this issue is unacceptable, and anyone who aids the shadow economy will face consequences. Therefore, joint efforts are needed to ensure economic and national security.
The competent authorities are actively monitoring the sale of tobacco products and calling for joint efforts to combat the shadow economy. As a result of the inspections conducted, numerous violations have been identified, leading to significant fines and the seizure of illegal goods.
