A senior member of the US House Intelligence Committee, Democrat Jim Himes, stated that a potential second term for Donald Trump could threaten the national security of the country. He noted that Trump has a tendency towards authoritarian leaders and may break commitments to US allies. The politician also noted that Iran is interfering in the elections for Trump's sake, and US citizens should be cautious. There is also concern that Trump could weaken NATO and cease support for Ukraine. The prospect of Trump returning to the White House also jeopardizes support for Kyiv.
