Three Ukrainian Tennis Players Advance to the Third Round of the WTA Miami Open.
Ukrainian Women Shine at the WTA 1000 Event in Miami
According to Novyny.live: The WTA 1000 tournament in Miami has seen strong performances from Ukraine’s top tennis talents. Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, and Yuliia Starodubtseva have all secured their spots in the third round. However, Dayana Yastremska was eliminated after her second-round match.
Ukraine’s number one and world No. 8, Elina Svitolina, defeated Australian player Emerson Jones with a score of 6:2, 6:4. This victory keeps her in contention as she advances to the next stage of the competition.
Yuliia Starodubtseva, currently ranked 108th globally, also made progress. She beat Kristina Bucsa, who retired from the match while trailing 6:2, 3:2. This win marks a significant milestone for Starodubtseva as she moves into the third round.
Marta Kostyuk, Ukraine’s second-ranked player and world No. 28, continued her successful run by defeating Kamilla Rakhimova 6:2, 6:4. With this result, Kostyuk has also earned her place in the third round.
Unfortunately, Dayana Yastremska, Ukraine’s third-ranked player and world No. 54, could not advance past the second round. She lost to Jelena Ostapenko with a score of 4:6, 4:6, ending her participation in the Miami tournament.
