Tuchel Warns England National Team About the Horrible Tunnel in Belgrade: What Awaits the Players

According to The Sun: Thomas Tuchel warned his players that they would have to walk through a terrifying tunnel in Serbia the night before tomorrow's match.

Harry Kane noted that the path from the locker room to the field would feel like 'a long mile'.

The England team must pass 240 meters through the stadium tunnel 'Rajko Mitic', where armed police guard the walls.

However, Tuchel believes that the hot atmosphere of one of the scariest stadiums in Europe can unlock the formidable potential of his team, which has suffered five defeats under his guidance.

“The fans, the circumstances, and the opponent will elevate us to a new level, and I look forward to it.”

England's captain Kane and midfielder Jordan Henderson have already warned the team about what awaits them.

Tuchel added: “Jordan will have a voice in the team. Harry has played here. They have already talked about it.”

“The atmosphere will be emotional. They will be loud, but the stands are sufficiently far away, and we will deal with it.

“Our young players are not afraid of anything. The team has worked wonderfully throughout the week, and everyone deserves to play. We have some tough choices and narrow decisions. The bench will be strong, and age is not decisive.”

“I played here with Tottenham, and the atmosphere was pretty hostile — just the path from the locker room to the field. It feels like a long mile.”

There are fears that hostility may again lead to racist abuse against England's black players.

Serbian fans have a long history of violations, and 15% of the stadium will be closed on Tuesday as punishment from UEFA for racist actions during two Nations League matches against Switzerland.

However, if the atmosphere does not cross the line, Kane admitted that he enjoys playing in hostile stadiums because it's a challenge — to silence the opponents.

This match is an important test for Tuchel ahead of the World Cup. Kane, who played under Tuchel at 'Bayern', believes: “This is probably our biggest test under his leadership.”

Difficult Conditions

Kane believes the Serbian team is ready to give a completely different fight compared to the previous match against Andorra.

“The teams we play against are usually ready to lose 1:0 or 2:0.”

Kane hopes that England can show their best level.

Tuchel has not yet announced the starting lineup, but Elliot Anderson may stay in the squad after an impressive performance in midfield.
