Peter Wright lost 13 kilograms: how the darts champion's life has changed.
Victories Ahead
According to The Sun: Peter Wright is confident that he still has plenty of strength, despite having lost three stones in an attempt to become the first Scot to win three world championships.
‘Snakebite’ will face Cameron Menzies in the first round of the World Series final, and he is ready to show that he is still capable of being at the top, despite dropping to 16th place in the world rankings.
GettyThe eight-time major tournament winner has changed his lifestyle and sporting approach to regain his former excitement.
Peter draws inspiration from Luke Humphries and Ross Smith, who also slimmed down before reaching new heights in their careers.
“Honestly, I was eating once a day. I walked, exercised. I was probably happy not to be invited to all those World Series and Premier League tournaments.”
“I feel much better. I am more focused and can't wait to see how it reflects in my throws.”
“To be honest, it has helped me a lot. Luke Humphries got into this situation, and it has greatly improved his results.”
After tough times, Peter feels confident, recalling his past victories over strong opponents as proof of his abilities.
Feeling the Aging
The two-time world champion also notes that with his new slim body, he has lost some power in his throws.
“Yes, definitely. Especially in Milton Keynes. Oh God, the dart just reaches a certain distance and then drops or just drifts to the right.”
“So I am experimenting with longer darts, but they just don't suit me.”
“I have gone back to darts that look like Michael van Gerwen's, but they are actually my old models with familiar points. And lighter darts that don't fall out.”

He now has the opportunity to prove his capability on the world boxing stage. His competition, particularly with young and ambitious players, may become another factor that fuels his passion for victory and desire to take an honorable place among the best.
