Former coach Oleksandr Humenyuk has passed away
On January 4, former goalkeeper and coach of the youth national football team of Ukraine Oleksandr Humenyuk suddenly passed away. He had been working in recent years at the 'Dinas' club in Vyshhorod.
Humenyuk began his career in Khmelnytskyi, training at the 'Podillia' youth sports school. Later, he joined the youth team of Kyiv's 'Dynamo', where he played alongside Andriy Shevchenko and other future stars.
At the professional level, he played for the clubs 'Borysfen', 'Chornomorets', 'Volyn', and 'Metalist'.
From 2011 to 2016, he worked as a coach with Ukraine's youth national football team, specializing in goalkeeper training. He also coached at clubs 'Vorskla', 'Bukovyna', and 'Poltava', and in recent years managed his own football school.
During his playing career, Humenyuk played in over a hundred matches. He also won a championship in the Second League, received a 'bronze' medal in the Ukrainian championship, and made two semifinal appearances in the national Cup.
It is worth noting that earlier it was reported about the death of heavyweight champion Paul Bamba.
