Fare Hike in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi: Minibus Rides Now Cost 16 Hryvnias.
New Public Transport Fare in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi
According to Novyny.live: A new fare for minibus transport in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi has been set at 16 hryvnias, following an official decision on February 1. This represents an increase from the previous rate of 12 hryvnias, implemented due to rising operational costs for transport providers. Such adjustments in municipal transport are becoming increasingly common across Ukraine as operators grapple with economic pressures.
Economic Drivers Behind the Fare Increase
Key factors include a sharp rise in fuel prices, which have increased from 21 to 45 hryvnias per liter since 2021. Furthermore, the national minimum wage has risen from 6,500 to 8,647 hryvnias, leading to a 67% increase in driver salary expenses, which has directly contributed to the need for higher fares.
Consequently, the new minibus fare reflects the current economic realities and the financial requirements of carriers in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
This fare hike is part of a nationwide trend in Ukraine where transport service costs are rising due to factors like inflation and increased fuel prices. The change will likely impact the budgets of local residents who rely on public transport and may spur discussions about transportation affordability within the city.
