Czechia named sources of gas supply.
According to Vaclav Bartuska, the special envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic for energy security, Czechia receives gas from Norway, the Netherlands, and utilizes liquefied gas.
The country has contracts with Norway and Algeria, and from the summer of 2022, the proportion of gas supply will change. Currently, Czechia receives about 40% of its gas from Norway, 30% from the Netherlands, and 30% from liquefied gas. However, as production in the Netherlands is set to cease, the percentage of liquefied gas will increase to 60%.
Gas transit is also carried out through Germany and Italy. To ensure additional capacity, the Czech government has leased LPG terminals in the Netherlands and Germany for 5 years.
Previously, Russian gas was cheap, so Czechia purchased it to fill storage facilities. However, since 2001, there have been no visits by Czech government officials to Moscow for gas negotiations.
