The State Tax Service Revealed Major Tax Evasion Schemes.
During the first five months of 2025, the state budget received almost twice as much revenue from payments to the State Tax Service compared to last year. However, a large number of cases of tax evasion were detected, particularly through the use of virtual assets and the 'business fragmentation' scheme. In total, 668.5 million hryvnias were lost from VAT. 'Business fragmentation' schemes were identified in 7 retail chains involving 491 entrepreneurs with incomes of 4 billion hryvnias. These materials have already been forwarded to the Bureau of Economic Security for further investigation.
Summary
The State Tax Service reports a significant increase in revenue to the state budget from payments made within the framework of auditing activities. However, it is noted that there still exists a significant number of tax evasion schemes, particularly through the use of virtual assets and 'business fragmentation'. The amounts of lost income are substantial, and the authorities continue to fight against such violations of legislation.
