The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development announced that a new transit center for evacuees is being considered in Ukraine - in the Kharkiv region. Since the beginning of June 2025, nearly 124,000 people have already been evacuated from the front-line territories of Ukraine, including more than 14,500 children and over 4,000 people with limited mobility.
Evacuation data
According to inkorr.com: The following data is provided for the regions from which evacuation was carried out:
- Donetsk region - over 85,400 people evacuated, including nearly 9,300 children and over 600 people with limited mobility;
- Dnipropetrovsk region - over 24,600 people evacuated, among whom are more than 4,000 children and nearly 1,000 people with limited mobility;
- Sumy region - over 4,100 people evacuated, including more than 350 children and over 700 people with limited mobility;
- and others.
Operation of the transit center
Since the beginning of August 2024, the transit center in Pavlograd has received over 36,200 people. After their stay at the transit center, evacuees can take advantage of free temporary housing, of which there are 1,111 in Ukraine.
Comprehensive assistance is provided in transit centers: humanitarian, medical, psychological, legal, and social. People are helped to restore documents, arrange payments and social services, as well as receive financial support from the state and humanitarian organizations.
This new transit center in the Kharkiv region may become an important element in supporting people who find themselves in difficult conditions due to the conflict. Given the numerous challenges faced by internally displaced persons, improving access to assistance and support may ease their situation a little.
