The last GRU agent of the Russian Federation sentenced in Kharkiv: details of the attack on the military

In Kharkiv, the last agent of the operational-combat group of the Russian military intelligence (GRU), which blew up a car with a Ukrainian soldier last summer, received his sentence. He will spend 15 years behind bars.

This was reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine on Telegram on Wednesday, August 6.

Agent of the Russian military intelligence

As a result of the explosion, the Ukrainian defender sustained serious injuries.

The SBU counterintelligence detained all four participants of the group while they were preparing a new attack in a frontline city. It is known that three of the defendants were sentenced in June.

Now, another accomplice has been convicted — a 41-year-old unemployed resident of Kharkiv, who was recruited by the Russians through a friend. This concerns a special forces militant of the GRU of the Russian Federation.

'All four agents acted together and had one common curator from the Russian military intelligence. According to his instructions, the members of the hostile group monitored the vehicle of a Ukrainian warrior and then placed an improvised explosive device under it.'

After the assassination attempt, the agents manufactured a new explosive device and tried to hide it in a pre-prepared stash for further use in attacks.

In addition, the Russian curator ordered them to track and derail a cargo convoy of the Defense Forces, but the SBU thwarted the enemy's plans.

The last defendant was found guilty of treason committed by a group of individuals under conditions of martial law, as well as of a terrorist act committed by a group of individuals.

Let us remind you that the SBU detained a local man in Mykolaiv who collaborated with Russia. He was passing the occupiers the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Earlier, the SBU exposed an IT specialist in Kyiv who was setting up 'video traps' to adjust Russian strikes.
