According to ТСН: In Kyiv, a man with a knife attacked a passerby who decided to intervene on behalf of a child.

Police received reports from local residents about the attack that occurred near an apartment building in the Darnytsia district. Patrol police and an investigative team arrived at the scene, where they apprehended the attacker.

"He turned out to be a 53-year-old resident who was intoxicated. It was revealed that in the evening, he was yelling at his 14-year-old daughter for poor academic performance in school. His screams from the seventh-floor window were heard by a passerby who admonished the man," the message states.

Law enforcement reported that the offender, outraged by the "interference in the educational process", ran out of the house with a knife, chased after a 43-year-old Kyiv resident, and inflicted a cut wound to his head.

Medical personnel provided assistance to the victim, while investigators detained the intoxicated father.

"Investigators from the Darnytsia Police Department, under the procedural guidance of the Darnytsia District Prosecutor's Office, informed the suspect of being charged with a gross violation of public order motivated by evident disrespect for society using an item specially adapted for causing bodily harm (Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the police message states.

The article's sanction provides for up to seven years of imprisonment.

Additionally, an administrative material was compiled against the suspect under Article 173-2 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (Commission of Domestic Violence).

This incident highlights a serious problem of domestic violence in Ukraine, reminding us of the need to protect victims and society's response to aggression. Law enforcement continues to work to prevent similar incidents in the future and ensure the safety of citizens.
