New air raid alert system launched in Kirovohrad and Lviv regions: what it means.
Introduction of a new alert system in Kirovohrad and Lviv regions
According to inkorr.com: Starting from September 1, a new alert system for air raids will be implemented in Kirovohrad and Lviv regions. Sirens will now sound only in areas where there is a real threat from hostile drones or missiles. In case of missile danger, the alert will be announced throughout the region.
The Department of Civil Protection of the Lviv Regional State Administration explained: 'If there is a threat of drone attacks, the alert signal will be spread only in areas that are under threat.'
Preliminary changes in other regions
Similar innovations were implemented in the Kyiv region as early as July this year, where alerts are also announced only in specific areas in the presence of a threat from drones. Additionally, since August 27, testing of a similar system has begun in Chernihiv region.
The public advisor to the head of the Chernihiv Regional Administration emphasized: 'Residents of the area should be vigilant and track alert signals through a special application and social media.'
Purpose of the innovations
These changes have been introduced to improve the effectiveness of informing the population about potential threats and to ensure prompt response to dangers.
The implementation of the new system is an important step in ensuring the safety of citizens. The use of selective alerts helps to reduce panic and increase the readiness of the population for possible threats. These innovations will help save lives and health, as timely information can be crucial in critical situations.
