Military Registration Required for Compensation: Blackout-Hit Residents of Crimea’s Dzhankoy District Face New Demand.
Compensation Troubles in the Dzhankoy District
According to Espreso.tv: In Crimea’s Dzhankoy District, residents seeking compensation for prolonged electricity and water outages are encountering a new obstacle. The occupation authorities have promised a one-time payment of 15,000 rubles to those left without power and water for more than two days. However, to receive this aid, locals say they are being forced to register for military service.
This requirement applies to both men and women with medical training. Many residents are outraged, as they refuse to comply with the condition. According to available information, compensation claims must be submitted in person, not through online services like the 'Gosuslugi' portal.
Power Supply Situation
The power situation in northern Crimea remains dire. Some settlements have been without electricity for nearly a week. In response, Sergei Aksyonov, head of the Crimean occupation administration, stated:
It is currently impossible to establish clear schedules for restoring electricity. — Sergei Aksyonov
On July 13, the occupation authorities also announced that they cannot guarantee fuel supplies, further worsening the crisis.
These issues are causing growing concern among local residents, who are trying to find ways to obtain the compensation they are owed without exposing themselves to additional risks.
The combination of power outages in Crimea and the military registration requirement for compensation is adding tension to society. Many people view this condition as unacceptable, which could fuel rising protest sentiment in the region. The authorities are under pressure to resolve the electricity and water problems to prevent further social unrest.
