The repatriation effort was coordinated by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, working alongside multiple government agencies.
This marks the largest single repatriation of war dead since the conflict began, highlighting the ongoing human toll of the war.
The following organizations took part in the process:
- The Joint Center at the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU)
- The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU)
- The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA)
- The Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights
- The Secretariat of the Commissioner for Persons Missing Under Special Circumstances

The Coordination Headquarters expressed gratitude to the personnel of the Joint Center for Ensuring Measures of the Civil-Military Cooperation of the AFU, who transport the repatriated bodies to specialized state facilities. These steps are crucial for supporting the families of the deceased and ensuring proper handling of the remains.
This repatriation act underscores the complexity and humanitarian dimension of the conflict in Ukraine, where losses among both military and civilian populations continue to mount.
The return of fallen soldiers and civilians is an integral part of the state's efforts to ensure dignified treatment of the dead and their families. Such actions help preserve the memory of war victims and maintain public morale.
