Explosions thundered in Kursk amid massive attack, reports of destruction (updated).
On the evening of August 10, a series of powerful explosions occurred in the city of Kursk, Russia, following announcements of missile strike threats. According to the temporary governor of the Kursk region, Alexei Smirnov, air defense systems were activated and several air targets were shot down.
«Today, a downed Ukrainian missile fell on a residential building in the city of Kursk. A fire broke out. All emergency services were dispatched to the scene», – reported Smirnov.
Local residents also report explosions in various parts of the city, which resulted in damage to buildings and destructions. Russian telegram channels report 5 injured.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) stated that 15 people were rescued and 30 were evacuated from the building where the fire broke out.
Later, Smirnov reported that all operational services were working at the site of the fallen debris of the downed missile in Kursk, which fell on an apartment building. As a result of the attack, 13 people were injured, 2 of them in serious condition. Several ambulance teams are working at the scene.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck important enemy targets on the territory of the Russian Federation, particularly damaging traction substations in the Kursk region.
It should be recalled that on the night of July 28, the Kursk region of Russia was also attacked by drones, which led to explosions and fires in several areas.
