In Lithuania, unknown individuals attempted to set military aid for Ukraine on fire.
In 2024, the police of Lithuania arrested a group of individuals who tried to set military aid for Ukraine on fire. According to Police Commissioner Arūnas Paulauskas, this incident is another hybrid attack against Lithuania.
'We are already at war, this is a hybrid war,' the commissioner stated.
Law enforcement received information about intelligence at the facility where military equipment is stored. Thanks to cooperation with intelligence agents, the suspects were identified and arrested.
'Three individuals have been detained, others have been put on an international wanted list,' Paulauskas reported.
Meanwhile, in Slovakia, an explosion occurred during test firing at the Zahír'ya range, resulting in damage to the Zuzana 2 artillery system ordered by Ukrainian forces. Slovak Defense Minister Robert Kalinyak attributed the causes of the incident to malfunctions of the charges, ammunition, or the weapon system, and did not rule out foreign interference, although it is considered unlikely.
Additionally, Lithuania plans to modernize electronic surveillance systems at border points with Russia.
