The Netherlands increases contributions for Ukrainians: how much will they now pay for housing.
According to inkorr.com: The Dutch government has announced an increase in contributions for Ukrainians under temporary protection, which will take effect in October. According to the new rules, adults will receive housing assistance of €244.22 to cover utility costs, while the maximum amount for the entire family will be €488.44. Those receiving basic food will pay €252.18 per person each month, and the maximum contribution for a family of two adults will be €992.80.
'These new rules are based on the incomes of other categories of asylum seekers and individuals with income,' the Dutch government explained.
Previously, the rates were significantly lower: €105 for one adult or €210 for a family, if only utility costs were calculated.
Conditions for easing
The government has set a threshold at 115% of the standard basic assistance. If a person's income does not exceed this threshold, the municipality can reduce the contribution amount or exempt them from payment.
The government has also stated that these changes are necessary to ensure a fair distribution of costs and to reduce imbalance among different categories of the population. Ukrainians will receive the first bills with the new amounts in November this year.
The increase in contributions is part of the Dutch government's strategy aimed at balancing costs and ensuring fairness among the population. The new rates in municipalities will be introduced soon.
