Changes in Germany's minimum wage
Germany plans to increase the minimum wage. According to 'Hvylya', this information became known through a material from UNIAN. Many Ukrainians who left their country due to military events have already found jobs in Germany under temporary protection.The Federal Statistical Office of Germany reported that starting in 2025, the minimum hourly rate in the country will be 12.82 euros. However, beginning in 2026, this rate will rise to 13.90 euros per hour, and in 2027 it will increase to 14.60 euros. The decision to raise the minimum wage was made on October 29 without the need for additional approval from the Bundestag or Bundesrat. It is important to note that monthly income will depend on the number of hours worked.“The increase in the minimum wage is a fair step regarding those people who ensure the functioning of the state,” said Federal Minister of Labor Hubertus Heil.
Who is not affected by the increase
On the official website of the federal government of Germany, it is stated that certain categories of people will not receive an increase in the hourly rate. Among them:- interns
- trainees
- people on vocational training
- volunteers
- persons undergoing retraining
- private entrepreneurs
- other categories
