A pair of rare black wolves spotted in a Polish forest (video).

A few rare black wolves were spotted crossing a stream in a Polish forest. According to the conservation organization, this phenomenon is very unusual.
The coordinator of the SAVE Wildlife Conservation Fund Poland, Joanna Tochidłowska, set up a camera to study beavers. However, instead of them, she noticed wolves. She decided to leave the camera in place and collected video recordings of the black wolf a few weeks ago.
'This is something new and unusual,' said Tochidłowska.
According to reports, the black fur of the wolves is a result of a genetic mutation that has been observed in domesticated dogs for thousands of years.
Encountering black fur in wolves is a rare phenomenon in Europe due to decreasing genetic diversity. However, in Yellowstone National Park in the USA, about half of the wolf population has black fur.
Since wolves travel in family packs, and both black wolves weighed around 30 kilograms, it can be assumed that they are brother and sister and about a year old.
The organization that has been monitoring wolves for 13 years does not disclose the location of the forest, in order to protect these animals from poaching and prevent misinformation about wolves.
Wolves were nearly extinct in Poland until the 1950s, however, in recent years the population has returned, particularly in the central part of the country in the early 2000s. Joanna Tochidłowska and her colleagues teach people safe coexistence with wolves in these areas.
