According to ТСН: In Russia, it is believed that resolving the situation in Ukraine does not necessarily have to depend on bilateral relations with the US.

This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, as reported by Russian media.

“Russia believes that the resolution in Ukraine and bilateral relations with the US should not be linked, but Washington clearly 'indexes' these directions,” said Putin's press secretary.

It is also worth noting that earlier, Putin's special envoy Kirill Dmitriev reported that the negotiation process in the US regarding the end of the war in Ukraine is going constructively and will last for two days.

This statement by Peskov highlights the difference in approaches to resolving the conflict, where the US is actively trying to link its diplomatic steps to the situation in Ukraine. It is evident that Russia is trying to demonstrate its independence in this context. Negotiations in the US may become a critical stage for the entire situation, particularly for further steps on the international stage.
