According to ТСН: The head of the namesake faction of the Verkhovna Rada attempted to bribe members of other factions to ensure support for certain legislative proposals.

This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP).

"NABU and SAP exposed the head of one of the parliamentary factions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for offering illegal benefits to several members of parliament who belong to factions not led by this person, in exchange for voting 'for' or 'against' specific legislative proposals," the statement says.

According to preliminary qualification, these actions are considered violations under part 4 of article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, concerning offering illegal benefits to a public official. According to this article, such an offense carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term of four to eight years.

The details of the NABU and SAP case will be disclosed later.

According to sources, anti-corruption agencies are conducting searches at the office of the Batkivshchyna party. It is currently unknown whether these searches are related to the events described above.

According to some reports, it concerns the leader of the Batkivshchyna faction, Yulia Tymoshenko.

We remind that previously several MPs have already been served notices of suspicion in a case regarding the payment of 'shadow salaries' to other MPs.

Also, the media reports the names of the MPs who will be part of this case. Initially, three surnames were mentioned, but later five have been documented.

These events indicate serious problems with preventing corruption in Ukraine. The exposure of officials attempting to bribe colleagues calls into question the integrity of state institutions and demands decisive action from law enforcement agencies to restore citizens' trust in the government. The situation is developing, and further actions by anti-corruption bodies may be decisive in the fight against corruption in the country.
