Russian buyers of Ukrainian computer game threatened with criminal liability.
Ukraine vs Russia: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 game may be banned
First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Anton Gorelkin announced that the Ukrainian game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl may be banned in Russia. He noted that this could happen if the game contains illegal information, such as extremism or justification of terrorism.
Gorelkin warned that in case of finding prohibited information, responsibility may await not only the game developers, but also those who spread this information, including buyers of the game. Lawyer Mykhailo Mushailov also agreed with this and noted that even buyers may have problems if they are informed that the proceeds from the sale of the game go to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The release of the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is scheduled for November 20. The game developers, GSC Game World, actively support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
