A federal judge blocked the Trump administration's decision to freeze funding for foreign aid programs and grant disbursements. Earlier, the National Council of Nonprofits filed a lawsuit, claiming that the funding freeze is illegal and threatens important initiatives.
Democratic Party representatives called Trump's decision whimsical and illegal, while administration officials argue that it was necessary to comply with presidential directives and will not affect aid programs for Americans.
Judge Alihan has the view that the government lacks information about all the programs that will be suspended.
