The Ukrainian Navy assessed how the storm season in the Black Sea will affect the Russian fleet and the war.
Due to severe storms in the Black Sea, Russian ships will go to sea less frequently and perform combat missions. This will also cause logistical problems, which will affect the course of the war as a whole. This was reported by the spokesman of the Ukrainian Naval Forces, Captain 3rd Rank Dmytro Pletenchuk on the FREEDOM TV channel.
According to Pletenchuk, the storm season has a significant impact on logistics and fleet activity in the Black Sea. For example, the Russian base in Novorossiysk heavily depends on the weather. Navigation becomes a complex process due to the southern wind, which hinders exit from the base.
The Navy spokesman also emphasized that the storm season often affects shipping in the Kerch Strait. Almost the entire area can be difficult for ships even without logistical problems. Ships may be halted due to bad weather.
Nevertheless, the Kerch Bridge will continue to operate as usual, noted Pletenchuk. However, Russian occupiers may face problems due to storms, which will affect their logistics.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged the success of Ukraine's armed forces in the battle with ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. He considers it necessary to protect his fleet from possible attacks near military bases.
It is also known that the Russian Federation has withdrawn the last patrol ship of the Black Sea Fleet from Crimea.
The “ATESH” movement reported that the Russians have started building fortifications at the entrances to the city of Yevpatoria in the occupied Crimea.
