Construction of a new hospital is starting in Zhytomyr, made possible through cooperation with partners from the Netherlands. This information was published by the Ministry of Community Development and Territories of Ukraine.

A meeting took place between representatives of the Ministry of Community Development and Territories of Ukraine, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Zhytomyr City Council, Invest International, and the Recovery Agency regarding the project to build a new multipurpose hospital in Zhytomyr. Deputy Minister of Community Development and Territories of Ukraine Marina Denysiuk joined the meeting.

The project involves the consolidation of three city hospitals into a new building constructed using modern technologies. This aims to enhance the quality of medical services and the productivity of medical personnel. The construction of the hospital will be the first public-private partnership project in the healthcare sector. The private investor will be responsible for all stages of the project implementation, including construction and management of the new facility.

'This project is more than just a medical institution. It is a sign of a new model of hospital development, where quality and efficiency become the main priorities. This is the first step towards public-private partnership that can be expanded to other cities,' emphasized Marina Denysiuk.

The project also includes the use of various sources of financing, including public and private investments. According to estimates, the total cost of construction and equipping the hospital will be about 123.8 million euros. Preparations for the technical and economic justification are currently underway, after which the search for a private investor for the implementation of this important project will begin. Thus, Zhytomyr plans to build a new hospital within the framework of the first public-private partnership in the healthcare sector. This initiative aims to improve medical care and the effective management of the medical institution, which will be an important step in the development of the healthcare system in the region.
