Participants of combat operations can retire early: who has the right and what are the conditions.
According to inkorr.com: The Pension Fund of Ukraine reminded about the conditions for retirement for participants of combat operations (PCO). Veterans who participated in military operations have the opportunity for early retirement.
Requirements for retirement
Participants of combat operations are those who defended Ukraine as part of the armed forces. To retire earlier than the usual term, men need to be 55 years old and have 25 years of service, while women need to be 50 years old and have 20 years of service.
“There is an important feature: time spent in a combat zone is counted at an increased rate - one month is considered as three.”
Pension amount and benefits
The pension amount is determined individually, depending on the total service and contributions. Veterans also enjoy additional benefits such as allowances for disabled persons, housing assistance, and state support in case of insufficient pension. The minimum payment amount is 4958.1 UAH.
Participants of combat operations have the right to retire earlier than other categories of citizens if they meet the corresponding age and service requirements. The Pension Fund provides additional benefits and support to this group of the population to improve their social status.
Early retirement for veterans is an important step in recognizing their service and contribution to the country's defense. This decision is aimed at supporting those who risked their lives during military operations and creates more comfortable conditions for their lives after service.
