Podolyak Warns: Ukrainian Strikes on Russia Could Trigger Irreversible Changes.
Scaling Up Attacks on Russia: Mykhailo Podolyak’s Position
According to UATV: Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to the Ukrainian Presidential Office, argues that expanding strikes on Russia and occupied territories could set off irreversible processes within the Russian Federation while strengthening Ukraine’s position. He stressed that to end the war, it is essential to carry out large-scale attacks on Russian military installations. According to him, it is now clear that Ukraine possesses the capability to inflict maximum damage on Russia’s economy.
Ukraine’s Strategy Amid Ongoing Aggression
Podolyak noted that 2022–2023 were years when sufficient strikes on Russian defense enterprises were not carried out. He highlighted that 2024 has seen an escalation in the war against Ukraine. For four and a half years, Ukraine has resisted Russian aggression, and Podolyak believes that any target within Russian territory is legitimate for Ukraine, which is waging a defensive war in response to unprovoked aggression.
'I would only make one remark here. For us, as a country waging a defensive war in the context of unprovoked aggression started by Russia against Ukraine, any target that is on Russian territory in any way is legitimate.' – Mykhailo Podolyak
Thus, Podolyak underscores the importance of Ukraine taking proactive steps to ensure its security and bring the conflict to an end.
These statements reflect Ukraine’s current strategy of intensifying military operations in response to Russia’s prolonged aggression. Focusing strikes on key military targets may signal a shift in warfare approach, which could in turn alter the regional military landscape. Continued support from international allies remains crucial, as successfully executing these plans will require not only technical capabilities but also political backing on a global scale.
