Military expert explains Russia's fuel crisis caused by Ukrainian attacks

According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's defense forces have been systematically targeting Russian logistics, leading to major disruptions in fuel supplies across occupied territories, especially in Crimea. Military analysts say these operations are degrading the capabilities of Russian units, making it harder for them to sustain combat operations.

Oleksandr Ivantsov, a drone unit commander from the 3rd Army Corps, stresses that logistics is the backbone of any military effort:

“Logistics is absolutely critical for any army in any war.” — Oleksandr Ivantsov

He adds that strikes on Russian supply infrastructure "disrupt the enemy’s offensive plans and give Ukraine a chance to turn the tide in its favor."

As a result of Ukrainian drone attacks hitting oil and military facilities more than 1,200 kilometers from the border, Crimea is now experiencing a fuel shortage. The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed successful strikes on:

  • The Saratov oil refinery
  • The Lazarevo pumping station
  • The Volgograd oil refinery
  • The Yaroslavl-3 oil transfer station

While Russian commanders prioritize supplying their troops, ongoing disruptions in fuel, ammunition, and personnel delivery are severely hampering their operations. Ukrainian forces continue to carry out precision strikes on key logistics hubs, which, according to Ivantsov, could significantly shift the dynamics on the battlefield.

These developments highlight the central role of logistics in modern warfare, where resource supply can determine the outcome of conflicts. Ukraine’s targeted attacks not only reduce the enemy’s combat readiness but also create new strategic opportunities for Ukrainian forces to regain control over occupied lands. Such operations may serve as a foundation for future decisions in the fight to reclaim territory.
