UEFA will pay the aggressor country Russia 7.6 million euros.
UEFA plans to pay Russia approximately 7.6 million euros for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons, relating to solidarity payments. In particular, the Russian Football Union is to receive 3.381 million euros to support youth football, and for the current season UEFA will transfer 4.224 million euros.
In addition, teams from Germany, Italy, England, France, and Spain will receive 8.5 million euros for the past season and 10 million euros for the current one.
These financial supports are aimed at ensuring a competitive balance in the highest European divisions.
It should be noted that in 2022 UEFA excluded Russian national teams and clubs from participating in its tournaments due to the military conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. As a result, the Russian national team missed the Euro 2024 championship and two editions of the Nations League.
The draw for the World Cup 2026 qualifiers will take place in Zurich.
Ukraine called for the maintenance of the ban on the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the 12th World Games 2025, which will be held in Chengdu, China.
Currently, Ukraine insists on continuing sanctions against Russia and Belarus until the aggression ends and peace is established.
The Ukrainian side also calls for the preservation of the ban on the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the competitions of the World Games 2025.
Ukraine hopes for support from the International Association of World Games.
