Ukrainian Drones Strike Russian Oil Refinery in Saratov and Other Targets Over 1,200 km Away.
Ukraine's Armed Forces Target Russian Oil Infrastructure
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's military launched a series of large-scale strikes on Russian oil processing facilities, including the Saratov refinery owned by Rosneft. The attacks triggered massive fires. These operations are part of a broader campaign aimed at crippling fuel supplies and military bases deep within Russian territory.
The strikes hit the Saratov refinery, which has an annual processing capacity of approximately 7 million tons of oil. Additional targets included a fuel depot in the Rostov region and a command post in the Kursk region. In Feodosia, Ukrainian forces destroyed three large fuel tanks, while in Yenakiieve, a gas storage facility was blown up.
Impressive Range of Ukrainian Drones
Ukrainian drones demonstrated remarkable reach, striking the Kirov region and igniting a fire at the Lazarevo pipeline station, located over 1,200 km from the border. The Syzran refinery, situated about 800 km from the border, was also targeted. These drones have an operational range of up to 2,000 km, enabling strikes on strategically important assets deep behind enemy lines.
These actions underscore Ukraine's intent to continue active operations against Russian resources that sustain military efforts. Attacks on oil refineries could significantly disrupt fuel supplies for Russian forces.
Ukraine's military operations highlight its growing capability to conduct long-range strikes, potentially altering the course of the conflict.
The destruction of strategic assets like oil refineries could create serious logistical and supply challenges for the Russian army. It also reflects Ukraine's adaptation to new wartime demands, particularly the use of drones for complex, long-distance missions.
