In Ukraine, cars with internal combustion engines may be banned: what deputies propose.
According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, the prospect of banning cars with internal combustion engines (ICE) is actively being discussed. This issue became particularly relevant after the event 'Electric Perspective', which addressed the future of electric transport in the country.
In this context, deputy Yuriy Kamelchuk expressed the opinion for the first time that stimulating the electric vehicle market in the future could be achieved through legislative prohibition of cars with ICE.
Development of charging stations
During the event, plans were presented for expanding the network of charging stations for electric cars. However, representatives of the state avoided specific comments regarding tax benefits for electric vehicles after 2025. In particular, there was talk of the possibility of canceling tax privileges on the import of electric vehicles.
Prospects for discussion
Although Yuriy Kamelchuk's opinions are his personal views, similar initiatives may gain support among citizens. High-ranking officials were present at the event, including the Deputy Minister for Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure of Ukraine and other representatives.
Society is considering the possibility of transitioning to electric transport, which could lead to a ban on cars with ICE. Although this is currently only the personal opinion of the deputy, electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular, and discussions on this topic continue among Ukrainians and state structures.
Ukraine is actively implementing measures to develop electric transport, which indicates a growing trend towards eco-friendly transport. We will monitor further initiatives that could significantly change the automotive landscape of the country.
