Ukraine to Receive New Fighters: F-16, Mirage, and Gripen in the Sky.
According to inkorr.com: According to the information from Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Defense General Ivan Havryliuk, the country expects not only the previously announced F-16 aircraft and French Mirage, but also new models. The general specified that there are plans for deliveries of Swedish Gripen as well.
Details of Deliveries
In his interview for the BBC, Havryliuk noted that the list of aircraft has been confirmed, but did not provide details regarding the timelines and quantities. He said:
Let's wait until you see them in the air over Ukraine, then you will understand..
Situation with Airstrikes
The announcement regarding Gripen came amid increased Russian airstrikes. Russia plans to increase the number of attacking means. At the beginning of September, the aggressor country launched over 800 drones and missiles - a record since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
Appeal to Partners
Ukraine has appealed to its partners to provide at least ten Patriot systems. General Havryliuk noted that
there is movement in this direction, but specific details have not yet been disclosed. He also confirmed that countering the Russian 'Shaheds' is becoming increasingly difficult due to new technologies used by the aggressor.
Long-range Missiles
Currently, Ukraine is also planning to receive long-range 'Tomahawk' missiles. U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vence reported that the Trump administration is considering this issue. Local production covers about 40% of the front's needs; however, in the field of anti-aircraft missile systems, Ukraine is still heavily dependent on its partners.
Expanding Cooperation
Ukraine is actively working on expanding cooperation with other countries to obtain military equipment and armaments. In addition to the expected deliveries of Swedish Gripen fighters, the country is requesting Patriot systems and long-range 'Tomahawk' missiles. The new equipment and armaments will strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities and help stop threats from Russia.
In the current situation, military support from partners becomes critically important for Ukraine. The acquisition of new aircraft and armaments will not only increase the efficiency of defense but also demonstrate international support in the fight against aggression. Such actions could be an important step towards stabilizing the situation at the front.
