Ukraine Unveils Cutting-Edge EW Systems and Radars Now Undergoing Military Trials.
Next-Generation Ukrainian Defense Technologies Showcased at Demo Day
According to Espreso.tv: Ukraine’s latest defense innovations were unveiled at the Demo Day event, highlighting a suite of advanced capabilities. These include:
- low-altitude radar stations;
- trench-based, vehicle-mounted, stationary, and mobile electronic warfare (EW) systems;
- personal protection equipment;
- unmanned ground vehicles;
- miniature air defense systems.
The event drew over 50 participants from Ukraine’s defense forces, government agencies, international partners, and media outlets. Some of these technologies are already being deployed by Ukrainian troops, underscoring their immediate relevance and value on the modern battlefield.
New Systems Presented
Among the showcased developments was a radar station designed to assist drone interceptor operators in target acquisition. Maksym Matskuliak explained:
'The radar detects the target and helps the interceptor drone operator get as close as possible to ensure a high probability of a hit.' - Maksym Matskuliak
Also presented at Demo Day was the 'Phantom' electronic warfare system, now in its final testing phase. It operates across a radio frequency range of 300 to 6,000 MHz, with an effective suppression range of 15 km. The working unit delivers an output power of 100 W, and the entire system weighs 23 kg.
Additionally, the military has received the 'Spectrum' EW system for field trials. Yaroslav noted: 'A key feature is that we can control it via a specially designed web interface—over Bluetooth or the internet from anywhere in the world.'
Since 2025, a military unit has been using vehicle-mounted counter-drone EW systems. Artem Didkovsky reported impressive results: 'Outstanding outcomes. We have cases of countering 'Molniyas'—enemy fixed-wing drones.'
The event also revealed that on July 1, the government will launch a controlled export mechanism for Ukrainian weapons and defense technologies, highlighting the country’s commitment to advancing its defense sector.
The technologies presented at Demo Day reflect Ukraine’s proactive stance in strengthening its defense capabilities amid contemporary challenges. The adoption of cutting-edge innovations like EW systems and radar stations demonstrates the nation’s drive to leverage advanced solutions for security. The upcoming controlled export framework for defense technologies could further enhance collaboration with international partners and boost the competitiveness of Ukraine’s defense industry.
