Gas reserves in Ukraine exceeded the plan: what it means for the country.
Starting from October 31, Ukraine continues to accumulate natural gas in its underground storage facilities (UGS) in small volumes. According to the European platform Agregated Gas Storage Inventory (AGSI), this information became known, as reported by 'Interfax-Ukraine'.
Situation with gas supply in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: The improvement of the gas supply situation in Ukraine became possible thanks to import supplies. One of the reasons for this is the resumption of gas imports from Poland, which took place after the completion of repair works by the Polish gas transmission operator Gaz-System. According to former Energy Minister Olha Buslavets, current gas reserves in Ukraine exceed the planned indicators by 8.5 billion cubic meters, excluding technological gas.
Gas accumulation continues
The country continues to accumulate natural gas in its underground storage facilities, which helps ensure supply stability. The increase in gas reserves also indicates successful cooperation with other countries, particularly with Poland, in the field of gas imports.
Thus, the activation of imports and gas accumulation in underground storage facilities indicate positive changes in Ukraine's energy sector. With further development of the situation, the country may gain more opportunities to ensure energy security during the winter period.
