Ukraine is building a network of large vegetable storage facilities in all regions.

The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Vitaliy Koval, stated that Ukraine needs to plan the construction of vegetable storage facilities in every region for crop storage. Each storage facility can hold between 10,000 and 20,000 tons of produce.

Currently, the government has made a decision to use dynamic programs and allocated 1 billion UAH for the development of livestock and agricultural product processing. One of these programs involves the construction of vegetable storage facilities.

'Potato and vegetable storage facilities must be built in all regions. Each district and around regional centers should have powerful warehouses for storage, capable of accommodating between 10,000 and 20,000 tons of produce,' emphasized Vitaliy Koval.

The Minister also added that next year the government plans to launch a program for the construction of vegetable storage facilities. In this process, the government is actively reaching out to international partners for support to small and medium farmers and to assist in the creation of storage facilities and processing of vegetables.
