Ukraine has demined 370 hectares of land: who will receive compensation.

Demining agricultural land in Ukraine

According to inkorr.com: Ukraine, with the support of international partners, is actively engaged in the demining of agricultural areas to ensure food security. This initiative is funded through a state compensation program for demining costs, implemented as part of financial support from the European Union.

Since the launch of the program, the Humanitarian Demining Center has signed several agreements to de-mine significant areas of agricultural land. In October, 370 hectares were demined, and 5 agreements were concluded with demining operators. The average cost of demining this month was 58.8 thousand hryvnias per hectare.

The government has also expanded the opportunities of the compensation program, allowing individuals and the self-employed in the agro sector to apply for demining through the State Agricultural Register or local authorities.

At the annual conference on demining activities in Ukraine, which will take place in 2025, partner countries, including Belgium, Italy, and the Netherlands, promised to provide more than 80 million dollars for humanitarian demining. Separately, Japan announced a new support package for the long-term reconstruction of Ukraine.

Overall, in cooperation with international partners, Ukraine is developing and implementing a program for the demining of agricultural land, the funding of which is ensured by the EU. Thanks to this initiative, more than 370 hectares have already been demined, and several important agreements with operators have been concluded, which will further contribute to the safety and development of Ukraine's agricultural sector.
