From Nuclear Weapons to Drones: How Ukraine is Reviving its Defense Industry

According to inkorr.com: In 1994, Ukraine renounced nuclear weapons, and its defense industry, which produced a third of Soviet armaments, began to decline. Today, the country is actively restoring military production, combining old technologies with modern IT innovations.

According to the publication 'Khvilya', Ukraine has started producing missiles and drones, made using carbon printers and lawnmower engines. This provides the country with a strategic advantage in its confrontation with Russia.

'When there is a gun to your head, you don’t think about standards — you think about making it work,' quotes the magazine the technical director of Fire Point, Inna Terek.

The prototypes of the new missiles are even painted pink to make them easier to find after test flights. Despite this, they successfully completed their missions during attacks on Russian targets.

Modern Weapons from Ukrainian Manufacturers

The company Fire Point presented universal and affordable drones FP1 and FP2 in the style of Shahed on the market. Made with the use of 3D printers, they are equipped with lawnmower engines and modern navigation systems. The price of these drones is $50,000 per unit, which is significantly cheaper than Western analogues and Russian Shahed models.

Ukraine takes pride in producing 60% of its armaments domestically. This is an important step in transitioning from a nuclear state to a modern manufacturer of effective weapons.

Having renounced nuclear weapons in 1994, Ukraine is actively restoring its military production, combining traditional methods with new IT solutions. This promotes the preservation of competitiveness in ensuring its own security and defense capabilities. Fire Point plays an important role in this process today, offering modern and affordable weapons that provide Ukraine with significant technological advantages.
