Launch of the joint program between Ukraine and Denmark

According to inkorr.com: Ukraine and Denmark announced the start of a joint initiative called Ukraine Transition Program, which will last from 2025 to 2028 with a budget of 2.8 billion Danish crowns. The program aims to restore infrastructure, provide humanitarian assistance, support veterans and internally displaced persons, develop business, facilitate energy transition, and enhance transportation, as well as implement new reforms.

The program was presented during a meeting of the Steering Committee, which coordinates its implementation, by the Deputy Prime Minister for the Recovery of Ukraine – Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksii Kuleba and Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen.

According to Kuleba, cooperation between Ukraine and Denmark has already helped restore the infrastructure of Mykolaiv, and this experience is planned to be spread across the country. He is confident that over the next three years, millions of Ukrainians will experience positive changes related to stable water and heating supplies, as well as new opportunities for the development of their communities.

Main areas of the program

Within the program, about 60% of the budget will be directed to Mykolaiv and the region, while the remaining 40% will go to other affected areas of Ukraine. This includes the reconstruction of hospitals and schools, modernization of energy networks, water supply systems, and support for internally displaced persons in communities. The program is also aimed at supporting democratic processes, increasing government transparency, and active participation of civil society in the recovery. Oleksii Kuleba expressed gratitude to the Danish government for their solidarity and support for Ukraine during this difficult time.

The launch of this program is an important step for Ukraine in the recovery process after the war. The joint efforts between the countries will not only help overcome the consequences of the conflict but also promote stability and development in the region. It will be crucial for Ukraine to implement these reforms to ensure a better future for its citizens.
