Ukraine and South Korea are building a CHP plant in Odesa: details of investment projects.
According to inkorr.com: The Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Oleksii Sobolev held a meeting with representatives of POSCO International to discuss the prospects of cooperation between Ukraine and South Korea. The parties discussed a number of specific projects, including the construction of a combined heat and power plant in Odesa and the restoration of a grain terminal in Mykolaiv region.
The Korean delegation expressed a positive attitude towards the cooperation of the Government of Ukraine with the Economic Development and Cooperation Fund (EDCF) and KEXIM Bank. POSCO expressed its desire to participate in the construction of a RDF-fueled combined heat and power plant in Odesa aimed at reducing emissions and protecting the environment.
'The project in Odesa is very important for our ministry because it combines the investment component and the ecological aspect. This project is planned to be included in the list of priorities and submitted to the Unified State Project Portfolio,' emphasized Minister Sobolev.
At the same time, the possibility of a joint project with JSC 'Ukrzaliznytsia' for the construction of a railway depot is being considered. Various mechanisms for attraction are being discussed, including tools for public procurement and public-private partnerships.
Ukraine and South Korea are exploring opportunities for cooperation in areas such as the construction of a combined heat and power plant and a railway depot. POSCO International expressed its desire to participate in projects aimed at reducing emissions and protecting the environment in Ukraine.
