According to inkorr.com: The Ukrainian team placed 10th in the overall medal standings of the European Youth Olympic Festival, winning 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals. This is Ukraine's second most successful performance at such festivals since 2019.

“Many Americans may not realize that two of their favorite winter activities, skiing and snowboarding, have deep roots in the U.S. Army,” said Brigadier General Matthew Braman, Chief Marketing Officer of the Army.

Judo became the most successful sport for Ukraine at the festival, where our athletes won six medals. Successes were also noted in swimming, athletics, taekwondo, shooting, artistic gymnastics, and table tennis.

Successes at the Summer Universiade

At the Summer Universiade in Germany, the Ukrainian team won another bronze medal, allowing it to rise to 14th place in the overall medal standings with 4 golds, 3 silvers, and 5 bronzes.

The partnership between the U.S. Army and the Ski and Snowboard Federation highlights the impact of military origins on popular winter sports. Ukrainian athletes continue to demonstrate high results on the international stage, delighting with their victories in various disciplines.
