Ukraine can replace 40% of diesel fuel imports: Hungary's threats will not become a problem.
Attacks on Russian oil pumping stations
According to inkorr.com: The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to attack Russian oil pumping stations, particularly the 'Unecha' PS. This station supplies oil to Hungary and Slovakia through the 'Druzhba' pipeline. In response to these actions, Hungarian and Slovak officials promised to stop diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine.
Compensation for diesel fuel volumes
Director of the 'A-95' agency Serhiy Kuyn noted that Ukraine can compensate not only 10% of the diesel fuel imported from Russia but also all 40% of total volumes. This became possible thanks to a new supply system through road and rail transport, which was created after the Russian side lost its pre-war infrastructure. Currently, Ukraine is receiving oil products from Poland, Lithuania, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Italy, and for the first time, from Germany.
Import volumes over the last six months have increased by 5.4% and reached 5.3 million tons. The newly created geographically diversified system has demonstrated resilience during several trials, allowing Ukraine to ignore various threats.
These events underline the importance of Ukraine's energy independence amid military aggression. Increasing import volumes of oil products from new sources gives the country the ability to reduce dependence on Russia and ensure stability in energy supply during times of unrest.
