Ukraine will receive billions of hryvnias from state land lease next year - minister.
Ukraine will receive several billion hryvnias from leasing state lands thanks to the "Land Bank" program, which will be implemented next year. This will contribute to the country's economic development, said Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval.
State land remains state-owned and will generate income. According to Koval's estimates, Ukraine will receive several billion hryvnias from leasing state land next year. He also noted that without active participation from businesses, small and other entrepreneurs, this cannot be achieved. It is important to transition from an agro-country to an agro-industrial one, added the minister.
During the "Land Bank" project, Ukrainian farmers will be given the opportunity to legally use state land. For over 30 years, this was impossible. The project will allow subleasing state land for 14 years for the cultivation of annual plants and for 25 years for crops that require a longer period.
Koval noted that this would give farmers the opportunity for long-term planning, and would also be beneficial for the country's economy, as tenants will treat the land carefully and enrich it with organics and other methods. The area of plots for lease will range from 1 to 3969 hectares.
Koval also announced the next stages of the "Land Bank" - "Land Bank 1" and "Land Bank 2", as well as full process automation. He believes that it is necessary to eliminate the human factor from land relations so that they are transparent and understandable, like action programs.
