Ukraine won three more medals at the 2024 Paralympics.

Ukraine won three more medals at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. The awards were received by table tennis players and shot putters. This was announced by the National Paralympic Committee of Ukraine.

With three medals at once – one silver and two bronze – Ukraine begins its victorious third day of the Paralympics in Paris!, the statement says.

In particular, today there was the first double podium in the asset of our para-athletes in the shot put discipline, class F12:

• Volodymyr Ponomarenko (Poltava region) won the silver medal;
• Roman Danyliuk (Cherkasy region) won the bronze medal.

In addition, we have the first award in table tennis: Viktor Didukh (Lviv region) and 2024 Paralympic debutant Iryna Shynkaryova (Mykolaiv region) won the bronze in the mixed doubles competition in table tennis, class XD17.

In general, Ukraine already has one gold, six silver, and four bronze medals at the 2024 Paralympics.

In particular, on August 30, swimmer Oleksandr Komarov won the gold in swimming in the 100m freestyle in class S5 at the Paralympic Games. And on August 29, the Ukrainian swimmer won the Paralympic bronze in the 200 meters freestyle.

In addition, athlete Nataliya Kobzar became the silver medalist in the 200 meters race.

Moreover, on August 29, Ukrainian swimmers won three more medals at this year's 2024 Paralympics. The awards were won by Ukrainians in freestyle swimming.

Also, Ukrainian swimmer Anton Kol won silver in the 100m backstroke in class S1 at the 2024 Paralympic Games: this is the first medal of the Ukrainian team.

As reported, on the evening of August 28, a solemn opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Paralympic Games took place in Paris, which will last until September 8.

4,400 athletes from 169 countries will participate in the competitions. In total, 549 sets of awards will be contested in 22 sports. Ukraine will be represented by a team of 140 athletes competing in 17 sports.

For our team, the Paralympics in Paris became the eighth. At the previous Summer Paralympic Games, Ukrainian athletes won 98 awards (24 of which were gold), taking sixth place in the medal standings.

Belarus and Russia are admitted to the Games in individual competitions. There they will perform in a neutral status. In particular, 85-90 Russians will be admitted to the competitions.
